Our Services
Forensic Precision. Every Case.
SVT Collisions delivers rigorous, evidence-based investigations and reconstructions across many disciplines — each grounded in independent analysis.
01
Collision Reconstruction
Establishing, in detail, the events of a collision.
Our collision reconstruction service applies physics, engineering, and scene evidence to determine how a collision occurred. We analyse the evidence to produce a court-ready account of events.
Methodology
- Location analysis including photographs, videos and scale plans where appropriate
- Mechanical vehicle examination
- Scientific calculations
- Consideration of witness evidence and physical evidence
- Written report with supporting data and justified conclusions
02
CCTV Analysis
Speed from CCTV. Positioning objects from footage.
Our experts can analyse video footage and determine vehicle speeds and relative position of objects from footage giving far more information than what can be viewed on the screen during playback.
Methodology
- Independent analysis
- Forensic video software used
- Speed of vehicles or objects established with scientific calculations
- Photogrammetry and other software used for positioning objects
- Written reports with visual albums to aid understanding
03
Vehicle Mechanical Examination
Causation determined from the evidence.
Assessment of the mechanical condition of the vehicle. Were the bulbs working? Did the flat tyre cause the collision or occur as a result of the collision? Important questions that may need to be answered. The damage profile of the vehicle may also allow analysis of speed and orientation at impact. All SVT Collisions experts are qualified and experienced vehicle examiners.
Methodology
- Physical vehicle inspection
- Damage profile analysis
- Mechanical defect recognition
- Qualified vehicle examiners with industry certification
- Photographic evidence and written report
04
Incident Data Recorder Analysis
Specialist data recorders which contain data about normal driving as well as collisions.
A number of vehicles are fitted with an IDR recording many aspects of the way the vehicle is being driven and the ancillary controls being used. These are predominantly fitted to emergency service vehicles. Additionally insurance black boxes and fleet management tools may record vehicle data. Our experts are trained in IDR analysis.
Methodology
- VDO manufacturer trained
- Standby RSG manufacturer trained
- Forensic analsyis of the data
- Written report produced
- Album of associated images produced to assist understand
05
Vehicle (Crash) Data Retrieval
Vehicle stored collision data.
Many modern vehicles store information about a collision. This can include 5-seconds of pre-crash information on vehicle speed and pedal positions. There are currently two systems SVT Collisions utilise - the Bosch CDR and Collision Sciences CrashScan. Our experts are trained in the analysis of the data.
Methodology
- Bosch CDR Technicians and Analysts
- CrashScan Technicians and Analysts.
- Evidence analysed and written report produced.
06
Report Verification
Verifying other experts reports
Are you concerned about the quality of analysis provided? Do you wish for additional points to be considered? SVT Collisions can ensure the accuracy of a presented report and consider additional elements that may not have originally been covered.
Methodology
- Review of all the evidence
- Independent analysis
- Checking both the input and result of scientific calculations
- Review of the veracity of conclusions
- Rebuttal or confirmation reports where required
07
