Background
Michael founded SVT Collisions Ltd after an extensive career in specialist road policing and collision investigation. He has attended and investigated in excess of five hundred road traffic collisions. These include serious injury and fatal multi-vehicle events. Michael has also reconstructed vehicle borne murders and manslaughters.
Michael is regularly instructed by leading insurance companies and solicitors providing independent expert opinion and collision reconstruction. He has given oral evidence on many hundreds of occasions in the High Court, County Court, Coroner's Court and Crown Court as well as at police discipline hearings. He has prepared expert reports, joint expert reports and been engaged as a single expert. Michael has over 18 years experience as an expert witness offering a full range of road traffic collision investigation services and associated work including, but not limited to, scene and vehicle examination, incident data recorder analysis, video analysis and GPS data analysis. At the conclusion of his policing career, Michael was a Senior Collision Investigator Supervisor. This led to his involvement in the supervision of a further five hundred plus cases. Qualifications Include
- Foundation Degree in Forensic Collision Investigation (FdSc)
- Certified Automotive Engineer (CAE) with numerous vehicle examination qualifications.
- Member of the Institute of the Motor Industry (MIMI)
- Member of the Institute of Traffic Accident Investigators holding their Certificate of Professional Competence (MITAI (CPCFCI)).
- Member of the Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences (MCSFS)
- Incident Data Recorder Analyst (VDO and Standby RSG).
- Bosch CDR and Collision Sciences (CrashScan) Analyst
- Advanced police driving and response motorcyclist certificates.
